The entire whole knack series has a huge number of uses. I am a long time traveler with years of experience. Sometimes I use one bag, sometimes a bag and 2 suitcases. If given the chance, that bag is always this one.

Whether you're going to school, a working professional, going on overnight trips, or transporting items, this bag has ways to make your life easier. It will not help you in a torrential downpour but does repel light rain. Rain covers are definitely recommended.

Handsome and high quality, it doesn't have that cheap feel or smell of a bag that has residue coming off it from a shitty factory. The exterior fabric isn't quite soft enough to sleep on without a pillowcase but also isn't typical rougher nylon-just as a pleasant feel to the hand. The colors are true to what they are on the website. Subtle and stylish.

The interior lining definitely helps to differentiate items that you have inside, especially in a dark environment. Lots of pockets and ways to store things. The primary compartment has a great sleeve to store a tablet or smaller size laptop. The bag just feels good to use right out of the beautiful box it comes in. I reuse the shipping boxes for storing other items.

On the subject of storing things, I've never had a water bottle compartment look quite this stealth. Yes, it does cut into the capacity of the bag but it doesn't hurt much in the Medium or Large sizes. It is more concerning in the small size but if I needed more carrying capacity than the small, that's what my medium size is for.

The Large size is my pick for a one bag travel scenario. It is not a serious hiking bag with hip straps and do refer to the size charts for carry on capabilities but if I were going on a road trip, I'd use this. The separate expandable compartment is great because once I toss my packing cubes into the hotel drawer or glamping tent, the bag compresses down into a much more manageable and maneuverable 30L daily carry bag for souvenir shopping. In either configuration, the bag is comfortable, though fully expanded it does stick out.

The expandable compartment is also what I would use to store items that need to be cleaned, like groceries, items to be laundered, packages etc. Whereas the primary compartment holds my daily carry stuff relatively germ free. Plus there is that antimicrobial liner too!

The laptop compartment I use more as a place to store flat items like t-shirts, dress shirts, papers that I immediately need. My tiny 13-inch laptop has no problem fitting.

Two caveats against this bag which the new one has correctly updated. A side handle would have been nice and I think the compartment at the base of the bag is really only good for small things like a tech pouch and is awkwardly placed.

I would never keep my passport in my bag, especially on a front unlockable exterior pocket! In case you ever have to check this bag or get otherwise separated from it, do not ever keep your passport in the bag itself. It should always go with you on your person. The fabric is durable but not slash-proof. Does not have slash-proof handles, mesh or cable netting to prevent theft.

I've bought 3 factory second Knack bags so far and near as I can tell, they're first-rate! Lockable zippers are a plus as well.

They say my Knack was a second with something not perfect, darned if I can’t find what it is!!! On top of that it works great and is well thought out! Could almost use it for a week vacation!!! Thanks for the great product!

I’m a traveling salesman. I cover 16 states. Some of my travel requires me to travel by plane multiple time/wk. if you looking to carrier 3 days plus workout gear this is it. I have been looking for a bag that would carrier 3 days worth of attire plus work sneakers (size 14). Along with my computer iPad and noise canceling headphones. This is a bag for. The great part was they allowed me to try the bag for 30 days. What sold me was how much it was able to expand. Do yourself a favor and at least try the bag. You have nothing to lose.

I'm onto my second Knack and I have to say it seems the build quality fell off a bit on the stitching in my case.
There are frays I fear will get worse over time and the "hood" of the V zippers isn't stitched right causing it to have a weird bulge.
v1 was far cleaner in appearance than my current bag due to these issues.
Outside of that the new design is better overall and it works, but I feel the quality makes it fall short in a business setting.

Originally ordered medium but it didn't hold my 15.6" laptop. Customer service quickly got a return and store credit processed and I ordered my Large as a pre-order since they were sold out. Arrived a few days after ordering. I haven't had a chance to travel with it yet. That will happen in January but so far, I'm really liking the backpack. Holds all of my work gear without issue.

I have many back packs but none of them have all the features I want and need. This one exceeds expectations.

My bag shipped promptly and arrived quickly. Though I will admit I was checking the tracking daily as I was so excited to receive this bag. The bag was packaged very nice and it is very protected in the box. As soon as I unpacked it I could tell that this was a well built bag. I loaded the bag up with my everyday items that I carry everyday to work and around the city. I was shocked at how comfortable the bag was loaded out. I have yet to travel with this bag but plan to do so in January 2020. It is winter right now and the bag is also comfortable to carry with a winter coat. Some bags don't come with straps long enough to accomodate putting them on over a large winter coat but this fits very comfortably over a heavy parka. It also still looks great while wearing a large coat. I think my favorite part of the bag is the water bottle compartment I've never seen one like this on a bag and love how it works. I look forward to putting this bag through its paces and look forward to seeing new places with this bag. This is the type of bag that gives you the confidence to travel places and know that it will be there for you and makes you excited to use it.

I love my bag. I bought it for a short business trip to keep things simple, but I didn't know how much I could carry in it; I had two days of clothes, a laptop, a camera, and some accessories. It is amazing. Now I'm planning to take road trips, long weekends and I can wait to pack my stuff in my Knack bag.

Long version: I studied backpacks for six weeks before buying one. I am an avid RedOxx bag owner. I own six bags of theirs. I could not get over their backpack looking more a hiker than a minister and missionary.

I found Knack through reviews. I bought the large. I could not believe the quality or the spaciousness of the bag. 

I put it through a 12 day trip only carrying my tech. I loved it. I did not unzip the expansion section. It was perfect for plane and car and coffee shop travel. I came home; I did two, two-night trips with my suit packed. The suit did not wrinkle. It fit the overhead bin even with the expansion pack unzipped on a 900.

Great customer service by Rachel. I had two minor cosmetic concerns. She responded with grace and exceeded expectations.
